Giving Weather Thanks

What a crazy weather year it has been. Record cold and snow slammed the Midwest, followed immediately by torrents of spring rain and record flooding. The election made big news this year, but remember the Super Tuesday outbreak? The southern drought persisted, and in some case got worse. The hurricane season brought 16 named storms and multiple landfalls including Hurricane Ike in September. Wildfires have torched Southern California and early season snow has punished the Great Lakes. It may not seem like there is a whole heck of a lot to be thankful for this year but I'm going to give it a try.

Things I'm thankful for:

1. Hurricane Gustav sparring New Orleans.
2. Environmental awareness being so strong.
3. The Colorado River basin receiving huge snow this year.
4. Gas prices being more affordable.
5. LL Bean's outerwear. It saved me in a few storms this year.

What are you thankful for this year? Let me know and we may share it on Abrams & Bettes this week!
